Greenspond: History and Memoirs

Over the years there have been several histories of Greenspond. One of the most detailed is from the Encyclopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador. It was written in 1981.

Rev Naboth Winsor, a United Church minister, from Wesleyville, wrote several excellent histories of Greenspond and surrounding communities. He used mostly original documents found in the Church archives and other sources.

In this section I have also included memoirs that can be viewed as a history of Greenspond. Many of these were written by people who grew up in Greenspond and moved away. Their histories are based on their memories.

Lockyer Carter
Sandy Carter is one. He was born and raised in Greenspond and then moved to Ontario where he worked and raised his family.
